Accountant – Client Services Role with Progression

About the role

Join a leading international professional services firm as a Client Services Accountant. You will work on a hybrid schedule, spending three days a week in the Didcot office and two days remotely, supporting a portfolio of up to four clients.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary accounting contact for assigned clients, building long‑term relationships.
• Prepare year‑end statutory accounts from initial records to final filing.
• Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for clients.
• Review bookkeeping records, monitor cash‑flow, and manage supplier invoices and payments.
• Prepare and review VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC and Companies House filing requirements.
• Assist and review the work of junior accountants and support their professional development.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice, client accounting, or industry finance.
• Hands‑on experience preparing statutory and management accounts.
• Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle and bookkeeping.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Ability to manage client relationships and explain accounting information clearly.
