Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

Orka Financial is partnering with a technology business in Reading to hire an Accountant for its finance team. Working in a small, dynamic group and reporting to the Finance Manager, you will help deliver accurate and timely financial reporting while supporting strong financial controls. The position is full‑time and operates on a hybrid basis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and pre‑payments.
• Maintain and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts and produce timely reconciliations with supporting documentation.
• Execute month‑end close activities and ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, record depreciation and produce related reports.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation for general‑ledger balances.
• Prepare and submit tax‑related reporting.
• Assist the finance function with financial analysis and reporting.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified accountant with a solid grounding in finance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Adaptable and comfortable working across a broad range of finance tasks.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid model based in Reading.

Required skills

• Power BI (advantageous).
