Accountant – Maidenhead

About the role

Our client, an independent accountancy practice on the northern outskirts of Maidenhead, is seeking a qualified Accountant to join a friendly, forward‑thinking team. The role offers exposure to a mixed portfolio of SME and larger clients across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for a diverse client portfolio, handling enquiries promptly.
• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and larger businesses.
• Produce management accounts and complete VAT returns, including complex cases.
• Assist with personal and corporate tax compliance and advisory work.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance.
• Manage corporate and individual client relationships, including site visits when required.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA (or equivalent experience).
• Current experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, corporation tax, income tax and VAT.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with accountancy, taxation and practice‑management software.
• Effective at prioritising workload and working both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
