Accountant – Uxbridge

About the role

Our client, an independent accountancy practice in Uxbridge, is seeking a qualified Accountant to join their friendly, forward‑thinking team. You will manage a mixed portfolio of clients across various sectors, acting as the primary contact and delivering high‑quality accounting and tax services.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for a diverse client portfolio, handling enquiries promptly and accurately.
• Prepare statutory accounts for SMEs, limited companies, sole traders and larger businesses.
• Produce management accounts and handle complex VAT returns.
• Assist with personal and corporate tax compliance and advisory work.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
• Manage corporate and individual clients, supporting partners and visiting client sites when required.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or AAT (exceptional experience‑based candidates may be considered).
• Previous experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, corporation tax, income tax and VAT.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with accountancy, taxation and practice‑management software.
• Ability to juggle priorities, work independently and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
