Accounting Technician

About the role

PROVITA ANIMAL HEALTH is looking for a driven Accounting Technician to support its finance function. You will work within a manufacturing environment, handling a full spectrum of accounting tasks and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including ledger review, journal entries, reconciliations and analysis.
• Process weekly and monthly payroll using Sage 50 Payroll and manage annual P60 and P11D reporting.
• Perform daily bank administration: bank reconciliations, payment processing and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Oversee accounts payable, ensuring correct VAT treatment.
• Manage accounts receivable, sales invoicing and credit control.
• Submit HMRC filings such as VAT, EC Sales and Intrastat reports.
• Produce statistical reports for the Department of Finance and other stakeholders.
• Prepare financial reports for management and liaise with external auditors for the annual audit.
• Carry out ad‑hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• AAT/ATI qualification or part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in a manufacturing company.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Sage 50 Payroll (or similar payroll package).
• Sage 200 or Sage 50 accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
