Accounts Administrator – Finance Team

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Administrator to join a dynamic finance team in Grays. You will be responsible for managing day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accurate data handling and supporting the wider organisation with timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high‑volume data entry across purchase ledger, sales ledger, cash book and subcontractor records while maintaining accurate standing data.
• Match invoices, schedule payments and process cash book transactions.
• Act as the primary contact for query investigation, liaising with internal departments and external parties.
• Execute bank, debtor and creditor reconciliations, identifying and resolving differences.
• Process sales ledger and subcontractor transactions, ensuring compliance with VAT and CIS requirements.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with the COINS accounting system and its workflows.
• Proven track record processing purchase ledger and cash book transactions.
• Strong IT literacy, including ERP systems, Excel and data import functions.
• Experience conducting bank, debtor and creditor reconciliations.
• Familiarity with VAT and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) subcontractor verification.
