Accounts and Audit Senior – Finance Specialist

About the role

The Accounts and Audit Senior will play a key role in managing audit and accounting assignments for a medium‑sized accountancy firm serving a diverse client base. This permanent, on‑site position offers the chance to work on a variety of engagements while developing strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports for clients.
• Support the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, reviewing their work for accuracy and quality.
• Provide technical advice on accounting and tax matters.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the department.
• Collaborate with other departments to deliver integrated services.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (AAT, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Experience managing audit and accounting assignments in a professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proactive approach to workload management and meeting deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
