Accounts and Group Systems Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an organised and detail‑driven Accounts & Group Systems Assistant to join our fast‑paced finance team in Meads. You will support day‑to‑day financial operations, maintain accurate ledger data, and help keep our reporting systems running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, credit notes and internal expenses with accuracy.
• Reconcile supplier statements, investigate discrepancies and keep ledger data up‑to‑date.
• Assist with management accounts, including reconciliations and periodic reporting.
• Support payment runs, prepare documentation and handle supplier queries.
• Provide holiday cover for banking duties, TT checks and cash receipts posting.
• Contribute to improving office systems and participate in training.
• Produce daily stock and sales reports (VBA training provided) and support automated reporting.
• Maintain stock book entries, manage system permissions and support weekly/monthly reporting tasks.

Required profile

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Confident working with numbers and financial data.
• Excellent communicator across departments.
• Willing to learn new systems and develop technical reporting skills.
• Reliable, proactive and able to support a busy finance function.
• Experience in an accounts environment and meeting month‑end deadlines.
• Strong systems capability with advanced Excel skills.
