Accounts Assistant – Finance Team (Essex)

About the role

Our client is a property maintenance business operating across London and the South East. They are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team, handling day‑to‑day accounts payable and receivable processing. The role is full‑time and based at their Essex office.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and receipts accurately and on time.
• Update and maintain financial spreadsheets.
• Enter and reconcile transactions in Xero.
• Match items between the company’s CRM system and Xero.
• Support wider accounts payable and receivable processing across the business.
• Liaise with internal teams to resolve invoice and payment queries.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an accounts assistant, accounts payable or accounts receivable role.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle a steady volume of transactions.
• Experience using Xero is desirable (full training provided if not).
