Accounts Assistant – Finance Team (Wigan)

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a friendly finance team in Wigan. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will gain exposure to a full range of accounting activities while supporting the day‑to‑day operations of a growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales invoices and maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure balances are correct.
• Reconcile supplier statements, investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle finance‑related queries from suppliers and customers.
• Provide administrative support to the wider finance team.
• Maintain high levels of accuracy across all transactions.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
