Accounts Assistant

About the role

You will join a management accounts team that supports a portfolio of international clients. Working from our Cheltenham office, you will assist senior colleagues in delivering a range of finance functions and ensure high‑quality service across borders.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll administration and employee expense reimbursements.
• Handle accounts payable, payments and management of client funds.
• Post invoices and expense claims into accounting systems.
• Raise payments from client bank accounts and review overseas payroll services.
• Set up bookkeeping in Xero and configure beneficiaries in banking platforms.
• Assist with monthly management accounts in dual currencies.
• Provide VAT and indirect tax support and respond to compliance queries.
• Attend client calls, document actions and liaise with UK and overseas offices.
• Perform administrative duties and meet agreed deadlines.

Required profile

• Desire to pursue an accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or AAT).
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent communication and a proactive, detail‑oriented approach.
• Willingness to share knowledge and conduct research as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Experience with Xero accounting software.
• Experience with NetSuite accounting software.
