Accounts Assistant

About the role

The finance team of a fast‑growing renewable‑energy consultancy is looking for a high‑calibre Accounts Assistant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support both accounts payable and receivable functions while ensuring smooth month‑end processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own the accounts payable process, ensuring invoices and payments are processed on time.
• Resolve supplier queries and maintain accurate financial records.
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections and aged debt analysis.
• Complete bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Post journals, process expenses and support month‑end closing activities.
• Handle government subsidy claims from submission through to reconciliation.
• Build and improve finance processes, controls and systems, documenting procedures for consistency and compliance.
• Provide wider support to the finance team and the broader business as required.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in a similar finance role, covering accounts payable, receivable and reconciliations.
• AAT qualified or part‑qualified (ACCA/CIMA) with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in a fast‑paced environment, preferably within energy or PE‑backed organisations.
• Hands‑on experience with process improvements and streamlining.
• Excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• NetSuite (experience preferred).
