Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a well‑established finance team on a temp‑to‑perm basis. The role offers a fast‑paced environment where you will support a wide range of financial and administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Process subcontractor applications and invoices, ensuring accurate records and timely payments.
• Raise and post sales invoices.
• Handle company credit‑card transactions and employee expenses.
• Assist with banking activities and reconciliations.
• Carry out daily accounting tasks using Sage 200.
• Manage a shared finance inbox and respond to queries.
• Support payroll‑related and labour wage queries.
• Produce and maintain Excel spreadsheets, using VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
• Provide general accounts and administrative assistance to the wider finance team.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or in a similar accounting role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
• Good communication skills and a team‑oriented approach.
• Self‑motivated with a willingness to learn.
• Access to your own vehicle due to the office location.
• Availability to start at short notice is advantageous.

Required skills

• Sage 200 accounting software.
• Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables).
