Accounts Assistant

About the role

This is a hybrid Accounts Assistant position based in Hale, offering a supportive finance team and a flexible working environment. You will be responsible for a variety of day‑to‑day accounting tasks, helping the business maintain accurate financial records while developing your own expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and process monthly invoices
• Set up and manage direct debit collections
• Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts
• Handle weekly credit control via telephone and email
• Process supplier invoices and run accurate payment batches
• Maintain purchase and sales ledgers across several group companies
• Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile supplier statements
• Process company credit cards, employee expenses and petty‑cash reimbursements

Required profile

• Strong experience with purchase and sales ledger functions
• Proven ability to run supplier payment cycles and perform bank reconciliations
• Confident handling of customer and supplier queries by phone and email
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Practical accounting experience; formal qualifications are not essential
