Accounts Assistant

About the role

Join the finance team at Hedin Automotive, a leading BMW & Mini dealer, as an Accounts Assistant. You will support the day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting and smooth cash flow across the business. This position offers a solid foundation for developing a career in accounting within the automotive sector.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily bank payments and receipts while maintaining accurate sales and purchase ledgers.
• Reconcile bank and vehicle funding accounts.
• Manage vehicle purchase ledger accounts.
• Prepare month‑end reconciliations and support nominal ledger processes.
• Produce weekly and monthly financial reports, analysis, and cash‑flow information.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal processing.
• Identify and resolve reporting errors and support continuous process improvements.
• Provide general support to the finance team and undertake ad‑hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role.
• Studying towards an Accountancy qualification or holding an AAT (or equivalent) qualification.
• Motor‑trade experience is advantageous but not essential.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
