Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are supporting a leading global retail organisation based in Kirkby and are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This full‑time position offers the chance to develop within a broad transactional finance environment, handling the day‑to‑day finance operations of a fast‑growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Post and allocate customer payments.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Support the management of debtor accounts.
• Assist with sales ledger administration.
• Raise invoices and credit notes.
• Resolve finance and payment queries.
• Support month‑end finance processes.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Provide ad‑hoc assistance to the wider finance team.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or in a transactional finance role.
• Good understanding of finance processes.
• Experience with reconciliations and/or cash posting.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Confident communication abilities.
• Positive, team‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel.
• Finance systems (e.g., ERP or accounting software).
