Accounts Assistant Manager

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Accounts Assistant Manager to join a leading Chartered Accountants practice in Cheltenham. You will work within a collaborative environment, supporting a varied portfolio of clients while developing your own career in a well‑regarded firm.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, offering proactive, commercially‑mindful business advice.
• Supervise, review and mentor junior and semi‑senior team members.
• Assist partners and managers with practice development and client relationship management.
• Ensure all assignments are completed accurately, on time and in line with relevant accounting standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar accounts role within an accountancy practice.
• Strong communication and client‑facing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Motivation to develop professionally and support junior staff.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UK accounting standards and statutory reporting.
• Experience preparing accounts for a range of entity types.
