Accounts Assistant – Payable & Receivable (Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for two experienced Accounts Assistants to support a busy finance team in Harwich on a temporary basis until December 2026. The role will involve clearing a significant backlog of invoices and handling high‑volume processing in both payable and receivable functions.

Key responsibilities

• Process large volumes of supplier invoices, match them to purchase orders and delivery notes, and resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile supplier statements, support payment runs and ensure payment deadlines are met.
• Raise and process customer invoices, allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts.
• Chase overdue payments, maintain customer relationships and clear outstanding receivables.
• Maintain accurate records and data integrity within SAP, supporting month‑end processes and account reconciliations.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable (or Credit Control).
• Proven ability to manage high‑volume invoice processing and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Commitment to a temporary assignment through December 2026.
