Accounts Assistant – Payables (Temp to Perm)

About the role

We are partnering with a mid‑sized business in Central Bedfordshire to find an experienced Accounts Assistant focused on payables. The position is full‑time, on‑site in Ampthill, and offers a clear path from temporary to permanent employment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Accounts Payable inbox and process supplier invoices.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and handle supplier credits.
• Reconcile supplier statements to ensure all invoices are accounted for.
• Serve as the first point of contact for suppliers and maintain up‑to‑date supplier records.
• Raise jobs and purchase orders when required.
• Support the Finance Director with service delivery and produce weekly aged creditors reports.
• Undertake any additional duties as required by the business.

Required profile

• Experienced Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeper.
• Currently studying for AAT or already AAT qualified.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Access to a car for commuting.
