Accounts & Audit Semi-Senior

About the role

This position is with a growing Chartered Accountants firm in Poole, offering a supportive environment for an ambitious professional to develop both accounts and audit expertise. The role focuses mainly on accounts work with limited audit exposure, ideal for someone looking to broaden their practice experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and returns.
• Complete VAT returns and conduct bookkeeping reviews where required.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide day‑to‑day support.
• Assist with a small number of audit assignments and audit fieldwork.
• Support senior team members with ad‑hoc assignments and client projects.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Required profile

• Experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment.
• Studying towards, or qualified in, AAT, ACA or ACCA (or qualified by experience).
• Experience preparing accounts for a variety of clients.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Confident in building relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Proactive and positive approach to learning and professional development.
• Audit experience not required; full training will be provided.
