Accounts & Finance Director

About the role

Our client, a multi‑branch independent estate agency based in Brixton, is seeking an experienced Accounts & Finance Director to take full ownership of the finance function. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working alongside external accountants, you will ensure accurate financial management, compliance and commercial reporting across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage day‑to‑day finance and accounts operations across all branches.
• Prepare management accounts, budgets, financial forecasts and cash‑flow reports for senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements and internal controls.
• Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, HMRC and financial advisers.
• Provide commercial financial insight and strategic recommendations to support business growth.
• Oversee payroll, tax planning, audits and financial reporting while identifying and mitigating financial risk.

Required profile

• ACCA, AAT or equivalent accounting qualification (essential).
• Proven finance leadership experience within an estate agency or property company.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, statutory compliance and accounting best practice.
• Demonstrated ability to produce budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow analysis.
