Accounts Payable Assistant – Finance Team

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join a fast‑paced finance team in Heywood. You will support the purchase ledger by processing supplier invoices and maintaining accurate supplier accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and within deadlines.
• Handle supplier and internal queries, providing a professional service.
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve AP discrepancies.
• Maintain and review supplier account balances, clearing where appropriate.
• Close and maintain purchase orders in the system.
• Support the wider finance team with administrative and project‑related tasks.

Required profile

• Previous accounts payable experience in a large or complex organisation.
• Strong IT proficiency and confidence using Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer‑focused attitude with the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships.
• Fluent English.

What we offer

• Flexible working hours (start between 7:00 am‑10:00 am, finish between 2:30 pm‑6:00 pm).
