Accounts Payable Assistant

About the role

Axon Moore Group Ltd is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join its finance team in Leyland. The role is office‑based and offers the chance to contribute to a growing PE‑backed business with a friendly, down‑to‑earth culture.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for purchase ledger telephone queries.
• Check pricing on invoices and raise queries when necessary.
• Verify delivery note quantities and dates against supplier invoices.
• Liaise with other departments to resolve pricing and delivery issues.
• Post invoices and credit notes.
• Chase payments as required.
• Issue and review monthly statements.
• Provide administrative support to the Finance Manager.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an accounts department (preferred).
• Strong administrative and IT abilities.
• Experience with Sage 50 (desirable).
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good telephone manner.
• Enthusiastic and eager to learn.
