Accounts Payable Assistant – Purchase Ledger Focus

About the role

Join an established company in Oldham as an Accounts Payable Assistant, supporting a small finance team with a focus on the purchase ledger. You will work closely with two Senior Finance Officers to ensure smooth financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the purchase ledger, processing invoices and arranging supplier payments
• Perform regular bank reconciliations
• Assist with payroll administration
• Reconcile petty cash and pre‑paid card transactions
• Provide general office support, including handling incoming telephone enquiries
• Undertake additional tasks and duties as required

Required profile

• Previous experience using accounting systems; familiarity with Sage is advantageous
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Proven experience working within an accounts function, including purchase ledger and payroll
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
• Confident communication abilities with a professional telephone manner
