Accounts Payable Clerk

About the role

Inspired Education, a group of premium private schools, is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a shared service for UK and Northern Europe. The role sits in a shared service supporting 14 UK schools, 2 in Switzerland, 1 in Latvia and 1 in Belgium, and reports to the Head of Accounting and Tax. It is based in Mayfair, London, with four days in the office and one day working from home.

Key responsibilities

• Upload and code invoices through AP Connect into JD Edwards (the accounting software).
• Create new suppliers in JD Edwards and complete supplier bank verifications.
• Prepare payment runs every two weeks, covering autopayments and manual payments.
• Assist with month-end accruals for invoices received but not yet processed.
• Respond to supplier and staff queries by email and keep the inboxes up to date.

Required profile

• Demonstrable experience in a previous Accounts Payable role (essential).
• Ability to communicate with staff at all levels, with excellent telephone and email manner.
• Great attention to detail, organised and able to plan and prioritise.
• A self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
• Good team player, flexible and proactive with a positive attitude.
• Comfortable with 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home.
• Sector experience preferred but not essential; French is a bonus but not essential.

Required skills

• JDE (JD Edwards) experience desirable, otherwise strong financial systems experience.
• Fully proficient in Excel and Outlook.
