Accounts Payable Officer

About the role

West Kent Housing Association is seeking a proactive, customer‑focused Accounts Payable Officer to join its Finance team in Sevenoaks. You will play a key part in ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time while supporting strong financial controls across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoices, Direct Debits and supplier payments accurately and efficiently.
• Resolve supplier queries and maintain positive supplier relationships.
• Perform reconciliations and support cash‑flow management.
• Assist the Procurement Manager to ensure compliance with procurement and financial control requirements.
• Identify and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal colleagues and external partners.

Required profile

• Proactive attitude with a strong focus on customer service.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Good organisational and communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience in accounts payable or similar finance function.
• Familiarity with invoice processing and supplier payment cycles.
• Understanding of basic financial controls and procurement compliance.
