Accounts Payable Senior

About the role

Marc Daniels is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Senior to join a market‑leading organisation in High Wycombe. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will act as a key point of contact for supplier accounts while supporting operational excellence across the purchase ledger function.

Key responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of supplier accounts, building strong relationships and resolving complex statement discrepancies.
• Process invoices and self‑billing transactions accurately and within service‑level targets.
• Monitor invoice workflows, clear aged debt, and support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Maintain data integrity across finance systems and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
• Escalate high‑risk issues and act as a subject‑matter expert for the AP team.
• Provide coaching, guidance and training to junior team members.

Required profile

• Previous senior‑level experience in Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger.
• Strong understanding of AP processes, controls and best practices.
• Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills for internal and external stakeholder interaction.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel.
• Experience using finance systems.
