Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a well‑established finance team in Birmingham City Centre, taking ownership of the full purchase‑to‑pay cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the day‑to‑day Accounts Payable function, processing invoices accurately and ensuring timely supplier payments.
• Oversee the end‑to‑end purchase‑to‑pay process, maintaining and reconciling the purchase ledger.
• Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month‑end close, assist with payment runs and contribute to process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or as an Accounts Assistant with strong knowledge of the purchase‑to‑pay cycle.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused attitude with ability to identify and implement process efficiencies.
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet strict deadlines and remain calm in a fast‑paced finance environment.
