Accounts Receivable Administrator

About the role
We are partnering with a successful and growing business in Chester to hire an Accounts Receivable Administrator. The role sits within the Finance team and is responsible for accurate processing of invoices, payments, reconciliations and customer account administration. You will work closely with Credit Control and other stakeholders to support cash‑flow management.
Key responsibilities
- Process and manage the EDI sales invoice process, investigating and resolving system warnings.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure invoicing data is received accurately and on time.
- Resolve invoicing and product‑related queries promptly and professionally.
- Maintain invoicing schedules and ensure weekly and monthly billing is completed accurately.
- Process contract‑related price adjustments in the finance system.
- Manage customer account and agreement changes from a financial perspective.
- Produce and validate weekly direct debit collection runs and provide reporting/forecasts.
- Process ad‑hoc invoices and credit requests.
- Process cash receipts and payments from bank statements.
- Reconcile and allocate payments received through various channels, including open banking and card payments.
- Investigate and resolve unallocated cash balances.
- Support the Credit Control team with customer queries and dispute resolution.
- Assist with year‑end audit requests and provide information to auditors.
- Provide cover and support across the wider finance function as needed.
Required profile
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable, Sales Ledger or Credit Control.
- Strong reconciliation and cash allocation experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Positive, proactive and adaptable approach.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset.
