Accounts Receivable Clerk

About the role

The successful candidate will join a growing professional services firm and take responsibility for managing customer accounts, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and process sales invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts.
• Monitor outstanding debt and chase overdue payments.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries.
• Produce aged debtor reports and support credit control activities.
• Maintain accurate customer account records.
• Assist with month‑end processes and account reconciliations.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely billing and collections.
• Support continuous improvements across accounts receivable processes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accounts Receivable, Sales Ledger or Credit Control role.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Confident communicator with a professional, customer‑focused approach.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
• Experience in a professional services environment is advantageous but not essential.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software packages.
