Accounts Receivable Clerk – Temporary (East London)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established organisation in East London to find an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk on a temporary basis. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the AR function, ensuring invoices are issued promptly and payments are collected efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and process customer invoices accurately and on schedule.
• Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts.
• Contact customers by phone and email to chase overdue debts while maintaining positive relationships.
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries quickly.
• Prepare aged debtor reports and assist with cash‑flow forecasting.
• Perform regular sales ledger reconciliations.
• Support month‑end reporting and general finance administration.
• Maintain accurate customer records and ensure compliance with internal procedures.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing issues.

Required profile

• Previous experience in accounts receivable, sales ledger or credit control.
• Strong understanding of AR processes and cash‑flow impact.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude.
