Accounts Semi‑Senior – Hybrid – Basildon

About the role

We are a growing independent accountancy practice in Basildon seeking an Accounts Semi‑Senior to join our friendly, supportive team. You will work with a varied portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies across sectors such as construction, retail, consultancy and manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Complete VAT returns and corporation tax computations
• Prepare personal tax returns
• Support clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
• Respond to day‑to‑day client queries
• Maintain and develop client relationships
• Support junior team members where required
• Report directly to a Client Manager

Required profile

• AAT qualified or currently studying towards Level 4
• Minimum two years’ experience within an accountancy practice
• Proven experience preparing accounts and tax returns
• Strong communication and organisational abilities
• Interest in expanding client‑facing responsibilities
