About the role
An established accountancy practice in Liskeard is seeking an Accounts Semi‑Senior to join its growing team. The role offers the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of SMEs, sole traders and limited companies while developing technical expertise and client exposure.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Produce management accounts and supporting schedules.
- Prepare corporation tax computations and basic tax returns.
- Prepare and review VAT returns.
- Perform bookkeeping using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
- Maintain accurate working papers and meet compliance deadlines.
- Handle client queries via email, phone and meetings.
- Assist in mentoring or reviewing work of junior staff where appropriate.
- Support managers and partners with ad‑hoc assignments.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice.
- AAT qualified or studying ACA/ACCA (or qualified by experience).
- Confident preparing accounts with minimal supervision.
