Accounts Semi‑Senior / Senior – Wokingham

About the role

TPF Recruitment is supporting a forward‑thinking chartered accountancy firm in Wokingham that is looking for an Accounts Semi‑Senior or Senior. The successful candidate will join a collaborative, people‑focused practice, working with a varied portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and growing SMEs while developing their professional qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for a diverse client base.
• Produce corporation tax, VAT and, where required, personal tax returns.
• Assist clients with bookkeeping and cloud accounting software queries.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted point of contact.
• Identify process improvements and add value to clients’ businesses.
• Work with managers and partners to deliver assignments accurately and on time.
• Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate.
• Keep technical knowledge up to date through training and development.

Required profile

• Current or recent experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• ACA or ACCA qualification, or actively studying towards one (qualified by experience also considered).
• Experience preparing accounts for various business entities.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive, personable approach with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Experience using cloud‑based accounting platforms.
• Knowledge of statutory accounts preparation.
• Ability to prepare corporation tax, VAT and personal tax returns.
