Accounts Senior / Assistant Manager – Rural Business

About the role

This position is for an Accounts Senior / Assistant Manager within a fast‑growing top‑30 accountancy practice, supporting the Rural Business Client Accounts team. You will work closely with farmers, landowners and agri‑businesses, delivering both accounting and tax services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert accountancy and tax guidance to clients in the farming, agriculture and rural estates sector.
• Manage a portfolio of agricultural enterprises, rural estates, food production and equestrian businesses.
• Oversee preparation, completion and analysis of annual accounts and business tax computations.
• Advise on remuneration planning, profit forecasts and capital tax matters.
• Review and advise on VAT returns and related tax issues.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for added value.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
• Represent the firm at major agricultural and client events.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA accountant.
• Minimum 2 years experience in the agricultural or rural business sector.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent client‑facing communication skills.
