Accounts Senior

About the role

Our client, a growing accountancy practice in Chippenham, is seeking an enthusiastic Accounts Senior (also referred to as Accounts Semi‑Senior) to join their team. This position is ideal for an AAT‑qualified or ACA/ACCA part‑qualified professional who wants to deepen technical expertise, work with a varied client portfolio and progress toward a senior role.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end accounts for a diverse range of clients.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Produce management accounts and handle bookkeeping assignments.
• Support VAT returns and other compliance requirements.
• Liaise with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
• Support senior team members on more complex assignments.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Build and maintain positive client relationships.

Required profile

• AAT qualification or ACA/ACCA part‑qualified status.
• Experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Proven ability to prepare accounts for various business entities.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks.
