Accounts Supervisor / Junior Finance Manager

About the role

Join a high‑performing finance team in Watford where you will take ownership of the accounts receivable function. You will manage key customer accounts, drive cash collection, and supervise an Accounts Receivable Assistant while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Own the sales ledger and manage the end‑to‑end credit control process.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries.
• Identify and implement process, system and control improvements to meet KPI targets.
• Supervise, mentor and provide cover for the Accounts Receivable Assistant.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities, including balance‑sheet reconciliations and audit support.
• Produce accurate debtor performance reports and provide insight to the finance team.
• Support ad‑hoc finance projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable.
• Demonstrated ability to manage customer accounts and reduce aged debt.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive mindset with a passion for process improvement.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members is advantageous.
