Accounts Supervisor/Junior Finance Manager

About the role

Join a high‑performing finance team in Watford where you will own the accounts receivable function, build strong customer relationships and drive cash collection performance. You will also supervise an Accounts Receivable Assistant and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the sales ledger and manage a portfolio of key customer accounts.
• Run the end‑to‑end credit control process to ensure timely collection of outstanding debt.
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process, system and control improvements to meet KPI targets.
• Supervise, mentor and provide cover for the Accounts Receivable Assistant.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities, including balance‑sheet reconciliations and audit support.
• Produce accurate debtor performance reports and provide insights to the finance team.
• Support ad‑hoc finance projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Confident communicator with a customer‑focused mindset.
• Experience in Credit Control or Accounts Receivable.
• Proven ability to manage customer accounts and reduce aged debt.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive attitude with a passion for process improvement.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is advantageous.
