Accounts & Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager to join a rapidly growing sole‑practitioner accountancy firm in Bromley. Reporting directly to the business owner, you will manage a portfolio of SME and OMB clients and help drive the practice’s continued expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a client portfolio worth approximately £600k, developing relationships and expanding the client base.
• Prepare statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, personal tax returns, VAT returns and simple payrolls.
• Oversee workflow, ensure timely delivery of services and maintain high standards of client communication.
• Assist in building and developing the firm’s client portfolio.
• Deliver ad‑hoc advisory projects for clients across various sectors.

Required profile

• Qualified ACCA/ACA or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a general practice environment within a small‑to‑medium accountancy firm.
• Proven experience working with limited companies and a range of SME clients.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Based in or willing to commute to Bromley, Kent.

• Proficiency with Xero.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Proficiency with Iris.
