Accounts & Tax Manager – Tunbridge Wells

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager to join a respected and growing accountancy practice in Tunbridge Wells. You will act as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of clients, delivering high‑quality accounting and tax services while leading a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied client portfolio and serve as the primary point of contact.
• Lead client meetings, providing practical, tailored accounting and tax advice.
• Review statutory accounts and tax returns to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Plan, allocate, and monitor work to meet deadlines and priorities.
• Support year‑end compliance tasks, including P11Ds and other reporting requirements.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Coach and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Proven experience managing a client portfolio within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts and tax.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable reviewing work and maintaining compliance standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage.
