Accounts Team Leader

About the role

This interim position supports a fast‑growing Managed Service Provider in the UK. The role combines hands‑on management accounting with leadership of a small finance team, aiming to improve financial visibility and drive process efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash‑flow reporting.
• Produce financial analysis and commentary for senior management and support budgeting, forecasting and planning.
• Lead and coach finance team members, manage workloads and ensure timely delivery of tasks.
• Oversee credit control, review aged debt reports and implement collection strategies to improve debtor days.
• Maintain rolling cash‑flow forecasts, monitor working capital and support payment planning.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant, Finance Team Leader or Accounting Team Lead.
• Strong understanding of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Experience leading a small finance team and driving accountability and improvement.
• Ability to analyse variances, produce insightful commentary and support commercial decision‑making.
