Accounts Technician – Axminster

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Technician to join a busy, supportive accountancy team in Axminster. The role is perfect for a candidate with practice experience who enjoys working with a variety of businesses and handling VAT returns, bookkeeping and straightforward accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare VAT returns and bookkeeping for a range of clients
• Produce straightforward financial statements and accounts
• Assist with general accounting and compliance tasks
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records
• Support the wider team with day‑to‑day accounting duties
• Participate in team projects and provide office support as needed

Required profile

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• AAT qualified or qualified by experience; ACA/ACCA part‑qualified candidates also considered
• Confident preparing VAT returns, bookkeeping and straightforward accounts
• Professional, approachable and able to build strong relationships
• Organised, resilient and able to meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
