Accuracy Checking Dispenser – Relocation to Reading (UK)

About the role

Join a modern, technology‑enabled online pharmacy focused on patient safety and medication quality. As an Accuracy Checking Dispenser you will be the final safeguard, ensuring every prescription leaving the pharmacy is correct, compliant and safe for the patient.

Key responsibilities

• Perform the final accuracy check on all dispensed medicines, confirming patient, drug, strength, formulation, quantity and directions.
• Verify labelling, expiry dates, batch numbers and packaging integrity before supply.
• Identify, record and immediately escalate discrepancies, near‑misses and potential dispensing errors.
• Maintain clear, auditable records of every check performed.
• Support safe handling of controlled drugs, unlicensed medicines and high‑risk medications in line with legislation.
• Collaborate with dispensers, pharmacists and the wider pharmacy team while preserving independence in the checking process.
• Contribute to quality‑assurance initiatives, investigations and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Mentor and support colleagues on best practices for dispensing accuracy.

Required profile

• Qualified dispenser or equivalent pharmacy professional with experience in a dispensing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to exercise professional judgement.
• Willingness to relocate to Winnersh (Reading) and adapt to a fast‑moving, technology‑driven setting.
• Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.
