Activities Coordinator – Charity & Liberation

About the role

The Activities Coordinator (Charity & Liberation) supports and develops society activity across charity, liberation and political student groups. Working closely with around 50 societies, you will help students achieve their fundraising, volunteering and campaigning goals while ensuring activities are safe, inclusive and sustainable.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with student societies focused on charity, liberation and political themes.
• Provide guidance on event planning, health and safety, and compliance for all group activities.
• Assist societies in overcoming challenges and reaching fundraising or volunteering targets.
• Collaborate with the wider student‑union team that supports over 450 groups and major events such as Freshers, Elections, Awards and Varsity.
• Monitor and report on the progress of societies, escalating issues when necessary.

Required profile

• Passion for volunteer development and enhancing the student experience.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and manage own workload independently.
• Experience in planning and delivering events.
• Confidence in handling health‑and‑safety responsibilities and ensuring compliance.

• Salary £27,012 – £29,049 pro rata per annum.
