Activity Coordinator

About the role

Cygnet Hospital Taunton is seeking an Activity Coordinator to support patients across its acute inpatient and specialist learning‑disability services. Working 32 hours per week on a 7‑day rota, you will help patients engage in meaningful activities that promote recovery and social inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Encourage patients to participate in a variety of activities and maintain existing hobbies.
• Plan and deliver therapy‑based activity programmes, ensuring all necessary materials are sourced.
• Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to tailor activities to individual needs.
• Generate ideas, organise events and ensure all activities are carried out safely.

Required profile

• Passion for working in healthcare, particularly with learning disabilities.
• Basic understanding of occupational therapy principles.
• Creative mindset and ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
• Awareness of recovery‑focused and socially inclusive approaches (desirable).

Required skills

• Valid UK driving licence (essential).
