Activity Coordinator – Mental Health Ward

About the role

The Activity Coordinator will deliver engaging activities, outings and events for patients on Roxeth Ward, a 12‑bed acute mental health unit for men. You will work closely with the occupational therapist team to support patients in accessing therapeutic and recreational programmes that aid recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, plan and implement a varied activity programme for patients, including outings and in‑house events.
• Assist the occupational therapist by encouraging patient participation and maintaining existing hobbies.
• Source and prepare appropriate materials and resources for therapy activities.
• Facilitate group sessions and ensure all activities are delivered safely.
• Contribute ideas for new events and support the overall therapeutic environment.

Required profile

• Passion for working in healthcare, particularly with mental health service users.
• Experience or strong interest in supporting individuals with learning disabilities or dual diagnoses.
• Positive attitude, highly organised and able to manage shift patterns including weekends and bank holidays.
• Confident public speaker and facilitator.
