Activity Facilitator – Community Physical Activity

About the role

The Activity Facilitator will work within South Swindon Parish to increase physical activity among residents in priority areas. You will design and deliver inclusive sessions, provide personalised guidance and motivate both children and adults to adopt healthier, more active lifestyles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of local needs, strengths and challenges to shape activity programmes.
• Consult with potential participants, activity coordinators and other stakeholders to design popular and accessible sessions.
• Research, plan and deliver physical‑activity sessions that engage less‑active residents.
• Manage volunteers who support the delivery of activities.
• Work evenings and weekends as required and undertake occasional lone working.
• Use a vehicle for duties that require travel within South Swindon Parish.

Required profile

• Passionate about community health and wellbeing.
• Experience working with diverse groups, including children and adults.
• Ability to motivate and support individuals to overcome barriers to activity.
• Strong communication and consultation skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

• Fixed‑term 2‑year contract.
• Salary range £29,064‑£31,022 per annum.
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and two statutory days.
• Flexible full‑time (37 hours) or part‑time options.
