Actuarial Pensions Consultant – Edinburgh

About the role

WTW is seeking a Pension Actuarial Consultant to join its UK Defined Benefit pensions team in Edinburgh. You will work on a variety of trustee and corporate assignments, delivering valuations, accounting advice and strategic pension solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice on regular valuations, accounting, PPF levies, individual calculations and factor reviews.
• Contribute to integrated risk management, liability management, GMP equalisation, plan design and asset‑liability modelling projects.
• Support mergers and acquisitions and other market‑leading initiatives.
• Mentor junior colleagues, delegating tasks and overseeing project delivery.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Experience working as a pension actuary on core UK defined benefit pensions.
• IFoA nearly‑newly qualified or fully qualified actuary.
• Strong client‑service orientation and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proven delegation skills and a desire to coach junior staff.
• Self‑starter attitude with accountability for own work.
