Adults Social Worker – Community

About the role

The Council in Blackpool is seeking an Adults Social Worker to join its community‑based multi‑disciplinary team. The role focuses on delivering professional social work support that enables adults to maintain independence and quality of life across a variety of settings.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out holistic assessments and reviews, commissioning services in line with the Care Act 2014 and departmental policies.
• Participate in safeguarding adults procedures, including acting as Safeguarding Lead at H2 level when required.
• Collaborate with other teams, external agencies, providers and carers to deliver outcome‑focused services.
• Adhere to the Health and Care Professionals Council Code of Conduct and departmental policies.
• Empower individuals to make informed choices and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of social care developments.
• Maintain accurate records using departmental IT systems and comply with administrative and financial procedures.
• Attend professional supervision, staff meetings and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council.
• Experience of adult social work, assessments and safeguarding.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
