Adults Social Worker - Wellbeing and Culture

About the role

Our client, City of Doncaster Council, is seeking an Adults Social Worker to join the Wellbeing and Culture Team. The role involves managing a caseload of adults, carers and families, delivering holistic, strengths‑based assessments and supporting individuals to make informed choices.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload and conduct comprehensive assessments using a strengths‑based approach.
• Produce concise, factual written and verbal reports suitable for legal contexts and give evidence in court when required.
• Identify needs, take outcome‑focused action and promote independence while managing risk.
• Support Community‑Led Support initiatives and provide peer guidance to colleagues and new staff.
• Collaborate within a multi‑disciplinary team and contribute to service planning.

Required profile

• Social Work professional qualification (BSc, BA, MA, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent).
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Experience in adult social or health care settings, including needs assessment, advocacy and counselling.
• Proven ability to carry out Care Act assessments, strengths‑based assessments and develop appropriate interventions.
• Experience conducting Mental Capacity Assessments and working within a MDT.
